"Yeah, I remember you. You had me singing the blues for a long time after that. I had never met anyone that made me stay speechless like you do. I mean did. Well, it's a good thing you left. Saved me a broken heart. I heard how ruthless you are. Sounds to me like you are nothing but trouble. I need to hurry up and fix this sink, toilet, whatever, so I can get paid. I ain't got time for no back to the future blues..."

~ Its funny how people that dont even know me seem to have drawn a conclusion about me already. I would'nt call myself "ruthless." I'm about my business when I need to be, but I do have a soft side. The problem is, no one seems to take the time to get to know that side of me. You really had my attention that day, and I thought about you for a while after that. I figured since I had no intentions on coming back any time soon, there was no need to try and pursue anything between us. So, is there a "Mrs" in the picture...you know what, nevermind. I know my credibility is not too high, with you right now...the faucet is upstairs, 2nd door on the right. Let me know if you need anything.

DONTE TALKING TO TANGI...
***DONTE TO TANGI***
You know what? I ain't even trippin. Why don't you take me upstairs and show me exactly what's going on with your sink. My daddy always told me not to go up no woman's stairs unless she invites you. So if you lead the way, I will follow. Who knows, maybe we can turn this thing around.

*Jasa was on her way to visit her mother when she saw Deacon Jones fly bye in his new ride.*
"Wow, and he didnt even notice me. How can he afford a ride like that? Huh?"
*The bus pulls up and she get on. The whole time she was feeling regret for not returning Iya or sista Bell calls. Jasa's mind has been else where and she just didnt feel like the regular yip, yap.*

"Hey Tangi, it's Shonda. I wanted to welcome you home. Give me a call, maybe we can have a drink or something."
*Shonda hangs up her cell phone.*
"Dayum, now I don't have an alibi. I couldn't stay any longer at the hospital since Pollie was so sedated, she probably don't even know I was there. Schitt, I need a little action tonight. Boring ass Caleb can't give it to me so I'll find someone who can. Maybe I'll call Deacon Jones....nahhh, I have to make his ass wait for this sweet loving. Maybe I'll just stop by unannounced at Tangi's new spot."
*Drives to Tangi's new place. Knocks on the door. The door opens.....*

*She sits quietly while Pollie is asleep. She didn't know much about her but she knew, Pollie was a drinker. Jasa could spot a alcoholic a mile away being raised by one. The moment she heard about her accident, she felt sorry for her.*
"At least she did try to come to church," she thought.
*The sound of the machines beeping brought back memories she tried to suffocate.*
"Maybe I'll call, Iya? I wonder if she knows?"
*She picks up the phone and dials...*

Shonda? Wow, what an unexpected surprise! Come in, make yourself comfortable. I just have to show the plumber upstairs...I'll be right back.
**Thinking to self**
<well, this should be interesting...Shonda and Donte in my house...I recall him mentioning her being in his past, wonder what that was about.>
**To Donte**
Sorry, I wasnt expecting anyone other than you...well, the "handy man" that turned out to be you. I guess my dad told her I was here. Hey, I saw that look you shot her, didnt you mention the two of you have history? Care to elaborate...or am I being too nosey? Wait, dont answer that. I'm not sure if I'm ready for the answer. Anyway, I'll be more than happy to lead the way upstairs...follow me. The leak is in the master bathroom. From what I see, its not too bad, but I'm sure you dont need me to tell you how to do your job. **Leads Donte into bedroom** Well, the bathroom's that way, excuse the mess, I havent unpacked anything, so I hope you can maneuver your way around....**thinking to herself** <I'm sure this man has no problem maneuvering around a bedroom...Dammit Tangi, get your mind out of the gutter! But damn, he's sexy as hell and this 4 month celibacy streak is getting old...and he's just the perfect shade of chocolate to satisfy my sweet tooth...whew, shake it off, shake it off>
Well, I'll be downstairs, let me know if you need "ANYTHING."
**Tangi makes her way back downstairs to Shonda**
Ok, I know we havent talked in a minute, so lets get all of the formalities out the way...I'm good, life's good, no I dont have a man yet, no I dont know when I'll ever have one, yes, I'm still the same old "attitude having bitch" you lovingly coined me as in college, modeling is going good, no the guy you gave my number to didnt turn out to be worth a damn.....well, that brings you up-to-date on my life..lol...so, now lets get down to the good stuff...what have I been missing...who, besides Caleb, is on your menu, because we both know how you like variety! Wait, I have a bottle of Patron in one of my bags...and if you're the same Shonda I remember, we're gonna need it...up for some Tequila shots?

Man, look at this mess! This bedroom is filthy. I'm glad my work is in the bathroom and not the bedroom. But I know what... I am about to move some of these boxes off of this bed and take a nap while them old friends are downstairs talking. I'm sure they'll be busy for a while. I only need about a good 15 minutes to energize myself.

*Iya sits up and sighs when she hears the telephone ring.* "Just when I wanted to wash my cares away..." *As she hears the last few numbers from the talking caller I.D. she realizes that Jasa is calling, so she gets out of the tub, grabs a towel, and walks to the telephone in the office across from the bathroom. Looking back at the bathtub, she rolls her eyes and picks up the telephone.* "I KNOW you did NOT go ALL this time without calling me and THEN interrupt my bubble bath! This better be important!" *Although Iya has a habit of screaming over simple things, she always assumes that her friends know she is not nearly as upset as she seems.*
*She explains to Iya about Pollie and how noone had been down to see her yet. Just as they were getting into the conversation good a very handsome man in green scrubs walks into the room.*
"Excuse me, are you family? You can't be on the cell in here. Sorry."
*Jasa hangs up. She's a little embarassed.*
"No, I'm not family, well not really. She's my spiritual sister we go tot he same church. Is she going to be okay? Can I talk to a doctor?"
He has a warm smile on his face. His shadow lenght go-tee brought out his beautiful white teeth, that seem to bounce a slight glow off of his chocolate skin.
"Well, if you're not family I can't discuss her condition. Can you contact her family?"
*Jasa has a puzzled look on her face.*
"Wow, I really don't recall her ever coming to church w/ anyone. Maybe if I call the Deacon he will know what to do."
"Please do that. I need to talk to someone." He checks her vitals.
Jasa can't help but to ask, "You're the doctor?"
He smiles, "yes I am. Sorry," He extends his hand, "I'm doctor Wood. It's nice of you to sit w/ her."
"Well, it's the least I can do."
"Are those yours," he point to the beads she ahd brought to finish another project.
"Yes and by the way, my name is Jasa."
"Well, thats really cool. Do you make those for men also? I love the leather ones."
He tuns his other arm towards her showing Jasa the wore leather bracelett w/ what seems to look like alumni colors.
"Wow, thats nice," she admires grabbing his wrist w/o thinking. He smiles.
"You really have a thing for jewelry huh.?"
Jasa face turn two shade of red from embarassment. She snatches her hand back.
"I'm so sorry. I just get so," she says, as his laugh cuts her off.
"Well", he says still laughing but not admiring her head wrap as his eyes seem to really notice for the first time. "It's cool, Jasa. Well, let me know if you find any of her family, please."
"I will, Dr. Wood."
He laughs and leaves the room.
*Jasa felt all warm inside. She looked back at Pollie and remember why she was there. She picks up the phone and calls Deacon Jones.*

*As soon as she hears a male voice telling Jasa that she cannot use her cell phone, Iya figures that the call will be cut short. Just then she hears silence on the line, so she hangs up her telephone and goes into the bedroom where she puts on her black, silk nightgown with spaghetti straps and lies on her back across her bed. Staring up at the ceiling, she thinks about Pollie's accident. There but by the grace of God go I. She shakes her head and says a prayer for Pollie.*
