*Breathes deeply and wonders why is she standing, and what are all these people doing. The jaws of life make the final cut of the mangled wreckage. A lifeless arm falls out...*

*This looks like my car...Wait it is my car!!!! OH GOD...I can't feel anything*

She watches as the EMT's begin working on her. And just as quick as she's standing pain racks her body; she opens her eyes and hears. "WE'VE GOT HER BACK!" They proceed to strap her down, and hook her up. She hears them, "we found an empty vodka bottle in the floorboard, get blood samples." She can't speak to tell them she hadn't been drinking. She loses conscienceness again.

Even in her sedated state she can feel it, her broken heart. Her heartache is phyiscally manifesting itself. Her heart feels like it's in a vice grip, ready to explode. The pain...oh God the pain of a love gone wrong, so so wrong; and so long ago.

Even in her blind rage she knew that truck wasn't there when she pulled out of the parking lot. But the way she felt, it's true she wanted to die! Her life was such a lie, that death would be welcome. So why was God keeping her here to suffer?

*Speaking of suffering....can't wait to see which one of them fake heffas show up here at the hospital claiming how they are praying for my recovery. Especially Shonda...*

*Shonda pulls into her circular driveway. She quietly reflects....*

I have so much, but why do I want more? I have a good man at home and two beautiful girls. I have a job that I love and the money that I got from my father has me set for life. How I wish I could confide in Caleb. Sometimes I truly do think Caleb is with me because of the money. If he only knew how much I really have to give him...love, friendship and even loyalty. He was so charming at the state university - member of the oldest black fraternity, star football player and a great student. He had so much potential. What happened? Was I the reason for his downfall? Should I have spoke up and told him not to lie about his injured knee? I watched him play that rainy day and with a wrong twist of his knee, I saw his hopes of playing professionally disappear. It hurt so bad to see my man feeling down, but after 10 years, he still is in the dumps. I wish he would snap out of it and move on.

*Walks into her home, places down her bags and is greeted by her beautiful daughters.*

"Hey girls! Did you miss Mommy? I'm sure Daddy took very good care of you. Huh, what? He was too busy talking on the phone? Who was he talking to? Girls, go upstairs to your room...Mommy needs to have some grown folk time with your Daddy."

"Caleb! Caleb!" Shonda screamed.

"Why are you allowing our girls to hear your conversation with another woman? And what the hell is Iya calling for?"

"Don't answer, I'll deal with you later. I have to run to the hospital and check on Pollie. Also, Tangi just got in town and I have to call her and welcome her home. Don't wait up."
