*Iya sits in a faculty meeting doodling instead of paying attention to the words that her principal says at EVERY meeting. She jumps when everyone starts to clap for...whatever...I wonder what Caleb is up to. Maybe I'll give him a call when I get home.
Once she arrives home, she slips into sweatpants and a t-shirt and sits on her sofa in the den. Caleb. She then dials Caleb's number.*
*Shonda enters the conference room as the pastor and deacons were wrapping things up*
"I'm finished with the reports. I'm sorry that it took so long, but my computer crashed several times and I lost my database. But, I proved the devil is a liar and everything is perfect. I do have to apologize for the late vendor payments. It seems that the new EDI program that we use didn't electronically send out the payments. I've called our vendors and the payments should be posted to their accounts tomorrow."
*The devil is a liar?...More like Shonda's the liar."

***Knock, Knock, Knock*** Donte the fine, neighborhood hustling, handyman enters the conference room.*
"Excuse me folks. My name is Donte Magnificent. I work down yonder at the Caddy-Caddy Shop, someone called about a plumbing prob, an electrical prob, a electrical plumbing problem? Yeah, that's right. Someone must have heard my motto, 'Ain't nothin too broke that Donte can't fix it; marriage, money, maintenance...satisfaction guarenteed.' Man, this is a mighty fine place ya'll got here. (on the inside Donte's thinking... a whole lot of money too)"

*It's Saturday and Jasa gets up early. She cleans up her tiny apartment and do the laundry. When she's done w/ chores, she changes clothes and heads out to the library a few blocks away.*
"Man, I got a get me a computer or a laptop at least." She mumbles as the brisk air hits her in the face.
*When she get there, she has to wait to use a PC. On Saturday the place was always crowded. When Jasa signs in she is number seven on the waiitng list.
She finds a seat and pull out a quart size ziplock bag that has beads and cowie shells in it and, begin working on a bracelet and necklace set she'd been trying to finish for a few days.
The Librarian, a sharp dressed, older black woman is starring intensely at Jasa as she works on the jewelry.*
*Grabs coffee mug, locks the doors, and hits the garage door opener and car alarm. She looks in the passenger seat...*
Damn, I forgot to throw that vodka bottle in the dumpster in the back of the restaurant. And what is that smell...
*Slowly last nights escapades from her "county trip" start to come back to her.*
I swore I'd stop...but I just can't let it go. I have so much pressure on me and I need it;but its sooo good!!!! God you know I want to be your servant. Why won't you take this demon off me? I'm tired God, help me make it through.
*Pulls out of the drive and heads for prayer service*
*It's prayer service. Jasa sits looking at everyone wondering what their prayers were, really. She kept asking God to give her the courage to go enroll for college, but it just wasn't happening. Everytime she mustard up enough nerve, her stomach did flips. She wanted to talk to Iya about it, but she couldn't do that for the fear of getting the slightest rejection.
Just then she notices one of the sisters hubby starring at her. Jasa turns her nose up and roll her eyes.*
I'll call her back. I have too much on my mind at the moment. She's sweet though, someone I can talk to. Unlike that conniving...
Sigh...
Im probably over-reacting, but my intuition has rarely been wrong...and she has been out of bounds before, but you got to be a damn fool if you do it again.
I hope no one noticed that I was asleep through half of prayer service. My head is killing me. *Pops two more pills, and chugs a Coke.* I need to stop by the pharmacy and see if they'll give me my prescription early, I only have 2 pills until next week. I can't make it without my pills.
*Pulls into the parking lot and sees HIM*
Oh GOD NO!!!! He's with his wife. I should just run them the hell over!!!
*As her eyes whell with tears, she begins to think about the man she almost married. It seemed like yesterday, how much he said he loved her. How good it felt when he held her tightly in his arms while he sang in his baritone voice, sweet nothings of love. Yes, she had saved herself for this man, the only one she ever wanted to be with. She sits and cries...*
Woman: Oh my what's her problem, why is she just sitting in the middle of parking lot crying?
HIM: I don't know! *hustles his wife into the drug store, and glances back, then realizes who it is....*
*After prayer service Iya gets into her car and drives around town, not yet ready to go back to an empty home. When she passes Bead Haven she thinks of Jasa. Now why hasn't that girl called me back for the movies? Just then she hears "Beethoven's Fifth Symphony". A text message. She reaches up, takes her cell phone off of its clip on the visor, retrieves her text message, and sighs.* "Okay, Caleb. I hope all is well with you." *Before she knows it, she is at home ready for bed.*
(Thinking Outside of the front of the Church Parking Lot)
*"What a day! What a day! What a day! I don't know who the Pastor thinks he is asking me to come to church on Sunday! That's my day to unwind and OH, that Deacon following me around as if I, Donte Magnificent was trying to pull a scheme. I tell you what though, that Shonda woman... Man, I would love to use my tools on her. I wonder if she's married or not. I might take that trip to church on Sunday just to see what I can see."
