A Long Island, N Y family was shocked to find a California King Snake wrapped around the leg of a 7 mo old new edition to the family. It seems all was well when the child was put in the crib for the night, but later after hearing the child's screams, adults ran into the room to find the snake curled around the baby.

The King Snake is a non poisonous constrictor that is not native to New York. Authorities suspect the snake may've been imported with the packing in the new crib. Although there was understandably much panic, none of the principles of this story were injured. The baby is at home and the snake is residing in a local animal shelter.
