Wanda Sykes Gay
Sykes speaks out
November 18, 2008 Comedian Wanda Sykes, who stars in the CBS sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine, says the passage of a same-sex marriage ban in California has led her to be more outspoken about being gay.
"You know, I don't really talk about my sexual orientation. I didn't feel like I had to. I was just living my life," Sykes, 44, told a crowd at a gay-rights rally in Las Vegas on Saturday.
The Maryland-raised Sykes said the passage of California's Proposition 8 made her feel as if she had been "attacked."
"Now, I got to get in their face," she said. "I'm proud to be a woman. I'm proud to be a black woman, and I'm proud to be gay."

No surprice on either. IMO, I look for entertainers to entertain and if you are good I could care less who you sleep with.(unless it's little boys or girls) Never saw a photo with Queen Latifah with a dude. Ever. Missy I've seen with Alayiah[sp], Tweet and Ciara. Never a guy. Again, no big deal to me because both women are the best at what they do.

Would it surprise you to hear that ALAYIAH(sp) was, if not gay, at least a switch hitter. I recall her being married to R KELLY at one time, but what does that prove about her orientation? Hell he likes kids as much as JACKO! 
Not too familiar with those other two, but pay close attention to the lyrics in " ROCK THE BOAT" (work it in the middle baby!)

Nah, Aaliyah doesn't surprise me at all. I knew about my little tenderoni.
You're right too. A lot of artists reveal themselves in their music. Tweet's 'Oh My' comes to mind.
If it weren't so taboo, A LOT more people would be out about their desires. Hell, most of 'em can even admit it to themselves.

I wouldn't use the word "surprise". If she was gay it wasn't obvious to me. She was a beautiful young lady and a good entertaineer. Also, in the song "ROCK THE BOAT" she did say "...stroke it for me stroke it for me stroke it for me strok it for me..." now Clarence Carter said "I be strokin.." In my book strokin is strokin and not lickin. Hey, I could be wrong.

well as far as the wanda goes that didn't surprise me at all and i'm with bishop she was never that funny to me.now what about that real bright girl from girlfriends? is she gay?

There is a part of the female anatomy often referred to as "THE MAN IN THE BOAT." Reliable sources said years ago that was her reference. I gotta roll with dat. I know what you mean about STROKIN we read the same book. A barbie called my penis a "COCK" yrs ago. I was naive and didn't know what the hell she was talking about at the time. Missy I always had a feeling, but again, she's another one that I've never heard/read that she came out....
post coming out links please.... not 'appearing in pics w/ dudes' isn't enuff evidence.... 
definitely didn't know that about Wanda.....and I found her funny.... at times....

Most artists and those in the public eye don't seem to come out until they feel it's necessary for whatever reason. Most don't do it just for gp. Again, with all the stigma I'm sure there are MANY yet to come out.
