You know something, I am not a big fan of Barack Obama, although I did vote for him in the early voting process. He is the democratic party choice, so he was mine. I'm not bashing at all here, but I looked and listened to his campaign for the nomination and his debates against McCain, as intently as anyone I suppose, in an attempt to be more supportive. He seems to have a few good ideas on how, not so much to change D C politics and policies, but to retool them. He seems to have a fair understanding of domestic issues, but hes woefully lacking in foreign affairs and military manipulation. Perhaps thats where Powell will come in handy.
As to the GOP candidates, the toll of just campaigning is obvious in McCain's voice strength and physical presence. Although he was eager, at times he was visibly wobbling during the last debate. Thanks J P for providing that description of the duties of V P. Except for stepping in in the event of a catastrophe, I always thought it was a mere title job. In recent years, except for Johnson/Ford, none of them have done much of anything besides shoot their host and mispronounce potato. I don't know why, but SPIRO T AGNEW was probably the least known, but the most infamous. Maybe it was the name, it is kinda catchy
As to Sarah Palin, aside from picking up the feminist votes, who knows why McCain chose her and even they are probably trying to distance themselves from her. She is odd ball cute, with the lifestyle to match. Sort of a Lucille Ball. I've been waiting to hear her say something political that would indicate she has the slightest idea about whats going here and thankfully she hasn't.
At this point it seems to me its not so much OBAMA/BIDEN beating McCAIN/PALIN, but the GOP's efforts to recover from the embarrassment of 8 yrs of jr and the DEMs saying "Well since they don't want it anymore, we might as well pick it up before a qualified Independent comes along."
OBAMA/BIDEN ALL THE WAY!
