For the past few months, I've been hearing about how some of the 3d world countries recruit their "youth" military. In particular, some of the African nations. The thought of kidnapping children, as young as 6 yrs old to fight for the various war lords operating in the area, is almost unfathomable to the western mind. From what I understand the militia would go into villages line up all the males and kidnap the eligibles, in the process dragging them into the military. To insure their loyalty, they'd have the young men commit some grave immorality against the village before they left. Because these acts would be so abominable, they could never return to their village, even if they managed to escape the militia, thus assuring their loyalty to the war lord.
