Court date!

The last time you went to court, what got you there? What happened while you were in there? Were you comfortable down there, or were you scared, thinking they might lock that ass up?

Me I got a speeding ticket, 5 mph over. In TN thats a mandatory court appearance. The officer said they'll probably throw it out since its only 5 miles over. A funny thing happened. The officer pulled me over said I was speeding, 52 in a forty mph zone. After some protest and dispute, he showed it to me on his radar gun. By the time I'd finished with him, he reduced it to 5 mph, despite radar. For me it was still a ticket that I didn't need no matter what the speed. This took place June 15th.

I went to court today thinking it read August 25, Division 2 @1:30 pm. Went down to the CRIMINAL JUSTICE CENTER, where the courtrooms, etc, are located expecting to have my day in court and get my justice. Got there @ 1:45, stood in line until about 2:30. The bailiff checked my ticket before having me enter the courtroom and lo and behold, my ticket was for September 25. The officers hand writing was so bad that it looked like AUG instead of SEP on the ticket. So I politely put my baseball cap back on and promptly went back to the car and drove home. Then I took a nap and went to work at 4:30 pm.

How bout yourself? What happened the last time you went to court? Did you get justice? Did you rep your self, or did you have to have a lawyer? Did you get a bond or did that ass get locked up? Or did you just get fined?

The last time i went to court over a ticket i believe it was a no insurance ticket .in baytown courts you either have all the money up front because there is no type of payment plan or choose community service or there's always that option c which is sit your time out.at that particular time a sista was going through some things and didn't have a,b,or c but the thing about it was i brought both my 1 and 3 year old.once my name was called it was a mexican lady for a judge and i'm not trying to start nothing but i can't say that i wasn't happy she was a woman because she'd understand especially if she had her own.when she told me my options i informed her i didn't have the money to pay, didn't have nobody to watch my kids to do community service, and don't look good in orange(just playing but i told her i didn't want to sit it out either)she asked me "so there's nobody to watch your kids" and i told her no but my kids were so on time because my daughter started crying and my lil boy was clinging to my leg.she said she usually doesn't do this but she'll set up a payment plan for me.left out the court and went to the cashier to set up payment arrangements and happily walked out....the end

I've only been to court to serve jury duty. Sorry... wish I could relate to you criminals.

Right about here your kids would've become wards of the state while you either performed option b, or sat out optilon c. Thats just how they do it in Mtown! Its like the domestic violence thing. If an officer responds to a call and there is obvious evidence, it don't matter what the wishes of the actors are, someones going to jail. Its as simple as that. There are no options, or choices.

So what happened? You know the judge or something? Did they lock that ass up, or did you wimp out and pay the fine? You didn't run into any ol classmates, or girl friends on your way to the courtroom. Unless you live in "HOOTERSVILLE," theres probably more than one courtroom to go to isn't there?
