Post Way to go, Kucinich!

06-10-2008 10:48 PM

Tonight, I just want to thank Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich for introducing articles of impeachment against President Bush and congressman Robert Wexler of Florida for have the backbone to sign on to it.

Kucinich laid out 35 charges against Bush, including those related to lying us into a war and the outing of a covert CIA agent.

Most Democrats lack the backbone to perform their Constitutionally-sworn duty but, Kucinich can go forward knowing that he lived up to his oath of office to try to make sure that check and balances, a pillar of our government, would not simply fade away.

Playing devil's advocate a bit here, but doesn't Congress also have a duty to be fiscally responsible? "Going for impeachment" will, at best, cost the US taxpayers a bunch of money while hopefully "sending a message" that Bush's actions were unacceptable, but we both know impeachment is unreasonable.

If they were being "fiscally responsible", they wouldn't be approving a war costing $3 billion a week.

However, I doubt that the Dems would back this because, since regaining power in '06, they have been more interested in keeping Bush out there as the "boogie man" in hopes of getting more seats in Congress.

Still very disappointed that the Dems, after winning all those seats in congress, didn't have the ballz to do anything.

Lets just hope the Democratic front runner for the white house has the balls to implement some much needed CHANGES up there, should he be successful, w'out getting castrated along the way. After all hes running on a platform of CHANGE isn't he?
