For yet another election cycle, the Democratic National Committee is utilizing the help of bloggers to get the word out.* In this election cycle, the DNC is giving black bloggers a seat at the table.* Well, actually, it’s the card table that the little kids sit at for family dinners.

What black bloggers are finding out is that the “new media” is still as white as the old one and these bloggers are often not on the DNC’s radar.

Thankfully enough, there are black bloggers out there getting organized.* Who knows, maybe soon these bloggers will be able to argue from a position of greater strength so that in the next cycle, the Democrats will have to beat a path to their doors.

Playing Devil's Advocate.....

JP, if the Black vote 99.999% goes Democrat is the Black blogger needed. Also, Obama has kinda run on change and not race so why have a specia blog table for Black folks. Saw a report on how Facebook was a major key in Obama raising so much money and getting him out there with the young folks. What can Black bloggers do that Facebook and YouTube hasn't?

....that was BISHOP playing the role of Devil's Advocate.....

Bishop, in the case of Obama, I would have to agree. There's very little black blogger could do there. But, in regards to down-ballot national races or, equally-important, local races (we know the importance of this in the Cincinnati area), a black blogger there would be really useful.

They could offer a perspective useful to voters that may otherwise be overlooked (just think of Tim Burke here and what a lot of black folks think about him).

You definitely bring up a good point but, I am thinking about more than just the presidential race.
