Default Going to the other side

CHICAGO — Before Senator John McCain delivers his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday, Senator Barack Obama will make a marquee appearance of his own.

Call it counter-intuitive. He will appear on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News Channel.

For Mr. Obama, it will be the first time in his presidential candidacy that he’s on Bill O’Reilly’s prime-time program. The appearance is intended to put Mr. Obama before a conservative audience, one week after drawing 40 million TV viewers at his own acceptance speech.

Mr. Obama has had a strained history with the network, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Is this a sign of burying the hatchet or simply politically smart programming? Stay tuned.

Well, I guess it’s better to appear with the lesser of 3 evils, O’Reilly (the other two being Limbaugh and Hannity). I’m sure he’s well prepared for all the Rev. Wright questions he’s gonna get.

All Obama needs to do is wait for the scheduled 3 debates and it's a wrap. Does he or his people really think they need to appeal to the darkside. Big waste of his time IMO.

Bishop, I think he has to do the interview. Hell, he needs their votes, too so he can’t just write them off. LOL He’ll have a huge audience, too because that’s the night that McBush gives his acceptance speech. Obama has O’Reilly's number so you can best believe he knows exactly what to expect from that interview.

I have to give Obama credit for going when he knows what he's walkin into. That's more than I can say for McBush.
