R.I.P Isaac Hayes
|
|
Young folks may only know him as the voice of "chef" from South Park but, if you know music.....Isaac Hayes is Hot Buttered Soul. Any of ya'll know "HYPERBOLICSYLLABICSEQUEDALYMISTIC "? Isaac Hayes could take a pop song like "Walk on By" and funk the hell out of it. Did the same to "By the Time I Get to Phoenix".
RIP Mr. Isaac Hayes

Two greats in one weekend? 'His Coolness' will surely be missed.

IKE is a homie as many of youknow. I'd just seen him on The Bernie Mack Show on Thursday night. Then I hear they've got a movie with Samuel L jackson cooming out soon. Then I hear Bernie Mack died, then I hear Ike died yesterday. Man thats a lot for tthe entertainment to world to absorb at on e time. Especially if you knew either of them personally, as I did Issac Hayes. They've been none stop Ike on all the local stations all day today.
BISHMAN, do you recall ELLIES THEME? They played LIVE FROM LAKE TAHOE from 1973 and Ike and Teeny Hodges and the symphony did that performance. He played vibes and tore it up! GREAT TUNE!
