Well, she's different than Jamal, so she must really be white.

As I have said before, "all skin folks aint kin folks", this female is also bisexual. To answer Tucker's question from his original thread, IMO, this song is the anthem for bisexuals, you hit it right on the head Tucker. You need to stop listening to these perverted songs Tucker, you're about to open up a whole can of worms. LOL

Most of her songs come off as spoken-word with some serious basslines behind it. I posted some of her lyrics on another thread. She is actually very political/social in her music as well. Did a song with Talib [sp] on some social ills.
Jamal, you keep listening to that R Kelly then. LOL

What happened with her in this case? Clearly she has gone off the deep end. I'd rather listen to "Step To THe Name of Loooove" any day rather than "Barry Farms" or "I Kissed A Girl", hands down.

She's in the Top 10 in every Bass Magazine in the world. Most people who listen to her listen for her music. You'd love the remake she did of Bill Withers' "Who Is He and What Is He To You". In her version she speaks of her man having another man. LOL

Naw, I don't think so, LOL. Although I am a fan of jazz and love listening to a good bass player, content is very important to me, it doesn't matter to me that she is in the Top 10 of bass players, if she is spewing garbage. Now if you really want hear a good female bass player young man, I suggest you listen to some of Patrice Rushen's music, a musician/song writter who has her head on straight. Not only is she a Bass player, she is a Keyboardist/singer/songwriter/arranger/musical director, she was also the basist of Will Smith's " Men in Black", and she is good looking. Just for a sample of her skills, check out her song "Forget Me Nots", which was a Top 10 R&B hit (she sings and plays the bass in that song).
"Was it the simple things that made me so crazy about you, sending you forget me nots, to help to you remember, Baby please forget me not, I want you to remember"

I'm like that with pretty much all my music. I decide if I like songs before I ever even pay attention to the lyrics.

WARNING!!! BISHOP IS ABOUT TO SHOW OFF
For the record Freddie Washington was the bassplayer for Patrice Rushen. Freddie use to watch his older brother(name escapes me)and bass-GOD Marcus Miller play in NY. I get BassPlayer Magazine...read that last year. Got the Best of Patrice Rushen and always read the cover and who plays what. I think because folks saw her play bass on the video "Get Off" that she played all of her stuff.
As much as I love Old School to sleep on some good music(not sampling)because of the lyrics.....She is talking about 2 consenting adult(same sex).
Female bass players.... After Ndegeocello, you have Rhonda Smith who played for Prince NPG, bassist from Taste of Honey, bassist from the Tom Tom Club. Ndgeocello is in a class with even the men. Girl is tight. She just don't do dudes. LOL

Freddie may have played the bassline on "Forget Me Not", I stand to be corrected, however, Patrice does play bass, drums and keyboards, though she is mostly known for keyboards. I have to admit, I have not heard your girl Ndgeocello play bass, I'm just wondering why you posted those jacked up lyrics instead of some of her bass work?

Posted the lyrics to show that "I kissed a girl" was light-weight compared to Ndegeocello. Go to Music forum...I think there is a video of her playing.
