Default Are there any real singers left in our generation?

I can only think about Jennifer Hudson, what about you?

YEP, go to most Black churches on Sunday and there is someone there who can straight blow. Popular singers.....Beyonce "can" sing. Celine Deion[sp], Josh Stone. There are some. Some I don't like but are OK. MJB can sing. Keisha Coles is weak. lol

I just went to see Keyshia Cole on the Fourth of July...I was disappointed. I love her new CD but live....... *smh*
Mary J Blige, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, Christina Aguilera.
Jaheim, Eric Roberson, Raheem DeVaughn, Steph Jones.... and I'll give Chris Brown a lil credit.

Besides Aretha and Patty, some other strong voices are : Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, Dionnne Warwick, Toni Braxton, Nancy Wilson, Natalie Cole, Yolanda Adams, Stephanie Mills, Lauryn Hill, and Sade just to name a few.

SHONTAE'S list works just fine for the most part. From the avatar of the poster I'm guessing late 90s to the present for the "GENERATION" reference.

Heres a couple more:

ROBIN THICKE, ANGIE STONE, I still like Mariah Carey for her range, ERIKA (SUPER BADD) BADU, KANYE WEST can hook em up, FERRELL. I know i've left a few off, I was trying to pick a few that hadn't already been named. When you said "REAL" singers, I assume you meant folks like LUTHER, PEABO, FREDDY JACKSON, EDDIE (GREATEST TENOR EVER) KENDRICKS, FRANKIE BEVERLY, TEVIN CAMPBELL. Some of the new young singers sound good recorded, but most of them have studio engineered voices.

Whitney Houston has alwasy been one of my personal favorites.

Are you limiting this black women only? Christina Aguilera (sp) is very good imo.

Beyonce is mediocre. MJB is *a little* bit better.
