Beyonce can blow....when she needs to. Did a duet with LUTHER "Closer I Get To You". She has a great voice. When you sing with a master it brings out the best in you. She is singing to a generation that doesn't know real singing. Beyonce can sing. Go listen to that duet.

You are absolutely right! Their generation doesn’t know real singin (or real music for that matter) but there’s a few slowly tryin to bring it back.
That duet is very nice! Sounds damn close to Roberta and Donny.

Are you limiting this black women only? Christina Aguilera (sp) is very good imo.

I guess you mean "Pre-Crack" Whitney.

MJB better than Beyonce? You can't be serious cc5000, IMO, Beyonce is a much better singer (vocally) than MJB. MJB strains too much to hit notes, the same for Alicia keys, also a strainer.

OK, at your request I downloaded and listened to that song. I will concede that Beyonce gave quite the performance. Sounded much better than what I'm used to hearing from her.
Definitely enough to give MJB a run for her money, but not enough to compete w/ Whitney and Christina IMO.
Thanks for the suggestion on this one BISHOP... it's worth keeping.

What generation (age range) are you referring to? You too BISHOP? Folks of all ages can listen to this song. Was it at a concert with only teenagers or something?
Or sg, are you just trying to "prove" how old you are, like you're always trying to "prove" how black you are?

i think that the world never runs out of singers. the older generation cannot say the only real singers are the singers from their generation. music evolves and changes and it affects people daily. a real singer for someone could be crappy to someone.

I know what you mean, but imo, real singers are people like MEL TORME, LUTHER VANDROSS, JILL SCOTT, SADE, BADU, CHERYL LYNN, PATTI LABELLE, MARVIN GAYE, DAVID RUFFIN, FREDDY JACKSON, FRANKIE BEVERLY, BABY FACE, MUSIC, PRINCE, BOBBY BLAND, MAXWELL, JOE, ANGELA BOFILL, ANTHONY HAMILTON, THE GUY/GAL THAT DID THE DUET SATURDAY LOVE, MICHAEL FRANKS, HALL & OATES, MARIAH CAREY, CURTIS MAYFIELD, TEDDY PENDERGRASS, GLADYS KNIGHT, RANCE ALLEN, AL JARREAU, just to name a few. These guys and others like them have universal appeal. Their talent crosses ALL barriers. I seriously doubt anyone would find any of them crappie! Now those folks are singers, some are not musicians, or performers (hell teddy didn't move before he got paralyzed), just folks who can flat out blow!
Oh I nearly forgot about JEFFREY OSBOURNE and that ridiculous "LOVE CALL," but he makes it sound so damn good!
