I know gas is high but…

AP
DANVILLE, Calif. — Police in the San Francisco Bay area say a woman set fires in the restrooms of two gas stations and a coffee house and told them she did it to protest high gas prices.
No structural damage was reported at the Arco station, the Chevron station and the Starbucks in Danville where fires were set Wednesday using fireplace logs and a lighter.
Police say they later found 64-year-old Diane Craig at a nearby fast food restaurant with eight fireplace logs with her. Authorities say she told officers that she was behind the fires and that she woke up that morning wanting to do something about high gas prices.
Craig was arrested on suspicion of premeditated arson and burglary.
Police say they don't know why the Starbucks was targeted.

The latest trend in fighting high gas prices is:
When people leave their cars at the shop overnight for servicing, someone has been breaking into the garages and siphoning the gas from the vehicles. One guy was caught on tape with 8 gas cans leaving one such garage. He is still at large.

I am actually surprised that there is not more siphoning going on. Pretty soon, I suspect that you'll hear about people getting shot over this.

SAD AINT IT!
AN ASIDE:
J P if you're familiar with the senate investigation into the 5 or 6 oil execs who'd made billions of dollars in PROFITS recently, I sure wish you'd post a bit of what happened as a result, if anything, of that investigation. They admitted to making several billions in profits, but they said they reinvested the bulk of their profits back into the industry.

You will hear of more siphoning (and violence) as gas prices continue to rise.

I know, this is getting out of control. Being as close to the Border as I am a few days ago I went over with a friend, to put gas in and it only cost $57 to fill up instead of $50 to get 2/3 a tank.

Unlike the 70's when siphoning was all the rage; at least most of todays cars have latches you have to unlock from the inside of the car. I'm thinking of investing in locked gas caps.
I'm also glad my job is gated, and I have an attached garage.
