Let me drop a real topic up in heah! Pastor NOVELLA SMITH ARNOLD has proposed legislation to introduce condoms to inmates in the prison system. She says it would help stop the spread of aids/hiv by men being released and returning to society. I don't disagree with that at all, not one bit. BUT!, heres where I find any such proposed legislation absolutely ludicrous, WHAT THEY NEED CONDOMS FOR? Aren't they in jail/prison?

If those who have taken a sworn oath to do their duties as defined in their job description, actually did their jobs, Prison rapes, assaults, drug abuse, cigarette smoking, gang activities and other violations that take place in prison would have to show a dramatic decrease or be nonexistent! I think pastor Arnold should introduce legislation that holds the system more accountable for those who work within it and allow these violations to take place. Some say what about cases of consentual sex. If incarceration means you lose your basic human rights, then certainly you lose the right to sex also ..... of ANY kind! Our local jail is a smoke free facility. Visitors go through a metal detector and cigarettes are not allowed in the incarceration area, but it is not uncommon to see an inmate come to see his visitor with a lit cigarette in his mouth!

What about women in prison? Do they get condoms also?

In essence, if you issue condoms to prisoners for whatever reason, what is the system saying to the inmate, "WHEN YOU GET YOU SOME USE A CONDOM?"
